In the winter and with high efficiency systems the humidity often is too low which can cause health issues and damage property. Relative humidity level between 30% and 50% is what most considered comfortable.

There are stand alone humidifiers and whole-house humidifiers are hardwired to your home’s heating or cooling system and directly linked to the home’s plumbing. It is designed to humidify your whole house not just one particular room as with a stand alone humidifier.


Dehumidifier
Just as with the humidifiers, dehumidifiers also come in stand alone option for one specific room. They also come in ducted in to the HVAC system for a whole house dehumidification. This is the preferred option for large humid areas such as basements.
